Jacques Mauger was born in Normandy and studied the trombone at the Regional Conservatoire in Rouen, and subsequently at the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris”.


A prize-winner at international competitions at Markneukirchen and at Toulon, he started his professional career as first trombone with the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra, and then became trombone soloist with the Paris Opera Orchestra. 
Since 1990, he has concentrated on working as concert artist, and has often appeared as a soloist in France and abroad with ensembles varying from string, and symphony orchestras, to brass and concert bands.
 He has also made television appearances on ZDF,GLOBO, RAI and MUZZIK in France, and has broadcast on RFI, France Inter, France Musique, France Info and the BBC, thus making himself known to a wide audience. Many international composers have composed original works or made special arrangements for him.

Jacques Mauger is still active as a teacher at the “Conservatoire à Rayonnement Regional de Paris” where he was appointed in 1994, and also at the “Accademia Santa Cecilia di Roma”, Italy for 3 years. In June 2004 he won the audition for the trombone professor H.E.M Neuchatel Switzerland.

He is now the trombone Professor HEMU of Lausanne site of Fribourg from September 2012. He is also guest professor at the Senzoku Gaquen University of Tokyo, Japan.

He often gives masterclass in numerous countries: France, the U.K, Japan, Korea, China, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, the United States, and South America.

In 2007 his newly developed studies collection for trombone (in collaboration with Jean Michel Defaye) will be published in his collection IMD Arpèges publications Paris.

He also developed the new AC440 trombone model in Antoine Courtois Paris brass factory.

In his role as a true ambassador of the French school and its repertoire, he regularly presents master classes throughout the world for the soloists of tomorrow. Jacques Mauger is the new president of the “Association des Trombonistes Français”.

György Gyivicsan graduated at University of Szeged - Faculty of Music in 2001 and earned university degree. During his studies he attended and remunerated several times at national competitions. After this he got admitted to the college of Freiburg as one of the pupils of the world famous musician, Mr. Branimir Slokar. During his studies at Freiburg he has won a scholarship to Berlin Radio Symphonic Orchestra and has been a major member of the orchestra for two years.

He was one of the founders of Genesis Brass that was established together with colleagues who are taking major roles in Berlin’s notable orchestras. They have recorded numerous CDs and have given concerts and live TV shows as well. After successful graduation at Freiburg he moved to Switzerland to continue his studies at Bern University of the Arts - Music Faculty.

One of the highlights of Mr. Gyivicsan’s career was the winning of the international competition in Porcia (Italy) in December 2003

After the invitation from Branimir Slokar in 2004 he became a perpetual member of Slokar Quartet. Ever since they made numerous CD-recordings and gave concerts all over the world. 

He finished his studies at Bern University in 2005 and earned a soloist diploma. Afterwards he started teaching at University of Szeged - Faculty of Music as a trombone professor.

He has been regularly invited to give concerts and to host courses in countries like Portugal, Italy, Austria, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, South Korea, Slovenia, USA...

Currently Professor of Trombone and Brass Ensemble at the Folkwang University of Arts, Essen, Germany and Visiting Tutor at London's Guildhall School of Music & Drama, he has also served as Head of Brass at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Senior Tutor in Brass and International Visiting Tutor at Manchester’s Royal Northern College of Music and was voted 2014 Teacher of the Year by the British Trombone Society. 

He is a regular Trombone Professor with the Gustav Mahler Jungendorchester, European Union Youth Orchestra and National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and gives recitals and masterclasses throughout the world, including the Joseph Alessi Summer Seminar, Juilliard, Eastman and conservatoires in Boston, Texas, St Petersburg, Moscow, Porto, Oslo, Aarhus, Riga and Budapest. Chris has also given recitals, classes and has served as outside assessor at many UK Conservatoires and universities.

As adjudicator, he has served on international juries including the Budapest International Trombone Competition, Internationaler Instrumentalwettbewerb Markneukirchen, First International Wind Competition Moscow, Turkish Young Musician of the Year, Norwegian and British Brass Band Championships, Feis Ceoil Dublin and the Royal Overseas League Music Competition London an is a regular contributor to Brass Journals.

As Conductor he regularly directs orchestras including the Bochumer Symphoniker, Duisburg Philharmoniker, Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal, Folkwang Pops orchestra, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Pops and the Düsseldorf HH University Symphony together with Brass Ensembles and Brass Bands including Black Dyke Band and Grimethorpe Colliery Band.

Upon winning first prize in the ARD International Music Competition, Fabrice Millischer is recognised as one of the most gifted contemporary trombone players in Europe.

Besides winning the first prize in the ARD International Music Competition in Munich, he has also been laureate in other international competitions for the trombone: Budapest (2005) and the competition of Sacqueboute in Toulouse (2006). Since 2009 he has been an active participant in the“Déclic” Programme of the AFAA (Association française d’action artistique) which promotes young talents. Also in 2009 he was awarded the Silver Medal of the Academy of Arts and Letters.

Despite his young age, Fabrice Millischer is a highly sought Professor of Trombone. In 2008 he taught at the Conservatoire Paul Dukas in Paris and in 2009 he became Profesor of Trombone at the Hochschule für Music Saar (Saarland College of Music). This made him the youngest professor for trombone in Germany. Moreover, he is regulary invited to give masterclasses in France and Europe as well as in other parts of the world : Washington, Beijing, Quebec...

Fabrice Millischer is currently Professor of Trombone at the Hochscule für Musik Freiburg and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris.

Ximo Vicedo is actually Principal Trombone at the Spanish Radio Television Symphony Orchestra (RTVE).

His career as a soloist is short. Nevertheless, his repertoire is wide and his professional experience is admired by many composers who, nowadays, create pieces to be played by Ximo.

As a soloist, Ximo Vicedo has played with the Symphony Orchestra of RTVE, the National Youth Orchestra of Spain, Orchestre du Prix de CSMDP, Albacete's Orchestra, CSMA Symphony Wind Band, Barcelona and Madrid Wind Band.

On his passion about Pedagogy and Education, he has been invited regularly as professor to different Spanish youth orchestras and he gives master lessons and recitals all around Spain, Portugal, Italy, Mexico and Colombia. He has been a teacher at the Higher Conservatory of Aragón from 2002 to 2013.

Apart from his soloist career, Ximo Vicedo is a professor and a creator. He is committed to the investigation and development of the trombone, in order to offer the highest quality in the instrument’s production and to improve its execution. He carries this out with the Spanish brand Stomvi and the Higher School of Music Katarina Gurska.

Ximo Vicedo’s work, talent and effort make him worthy of important awards, but his first CD as soloist “Lo soñado” is the highlight of many years of hard work and dedication that have led to his first album which can be summed up as “the sound of his dreams”.
