Rules
1 - ORGANIZATION
The second International Trombone Competition of Alsace will be held from May 15th to 19th, 2019 in KINGERSHEIM (68).
2 - CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
The 2nd International Trombone Competition of Alsace is open to artists of all nationalities aged 30 years or under on 15th May 2019.
The award winners of previous editions will not be able to compete in any way.
3 - REGISTRATION
Registration deadline: 15th March 2019
Registration is made on our website at www.trombone-alsace.fr
Registration will be final after receiving the following documents:
- The registration form.
- A Curriculum Vitae.
- A letter of recommendation from a prominent personality in music life ( optional ).
- An identity photo.
- An identity card or passport copy valid.
- A transfer of EUR 90 for the registration fee (non refundable).
A preselection is possible on dossier. The selected candidates will be personally advised and will receive before the 20th March 2019 the official invitation to participate, specifyng the time and place they are expected in Kingersheim.

The jury may be changed in case of incapacity of one of its members.
The jury abstains from voting for candidates that are currently or have been their students on a regular basis during the two years preceding the competition, except during the final round.
Members of the jury are forbidden to communicate with participants or those close to them during the entire competition. They are required to respect the principe of confidentiality.
The jury will deliberate after each event. The Chairman of the jury vote as other members; in case of equality, voice duplication. The jury reserves the right not to award all prizes. The jury's decisions are final.
5. COMPETITION
The competition takes place in three phases: two elimination rounds (first round and semi-final) and a final with orchestra.
First round
A summons will be sent by email to each candidate specifying the places, rooms and times of rehearsal with piano. A draw will determine the order in which participants. The first round will be held on 15th, 16th and 17th May 2019 with piano at Espace Tival in Kingersheim.
Semi-Final
The events will be held May 18th, 2019 with piano at Espace Tival in Kingersheim.
Final
The final will be held May 19th, 2019 with orchestra at the Cultural Space Hangar in Kingersheim
Rehearsal rooms will be available for candidates from 9 am on May 14th, 2019 and throughout the period of the competition. A rehearsal with piano for the first round is scheduled for each candidate and for the semifinal. Three piano accompanists will be designated by the competition management and graciously put at the disposal of candidates in the tests.However, applicants may, if they wish, be accompanied by pianist of their choice, at their own expense.
The finalists can rehearse with the orchestra before the final.
RECORDINGS AND BROADCASTS
Competition organisers reserve the right to record all or part of the competition using photographic or video technology, for advertising, archives, television, internet or radio broardcasting in accordance with the rights of French musicians.
SCORES
Candidates are expected to use the original musical scores of the works they perform. The International Trombone Competition of Alsace can not be deemed responsible for any fraud that might be commited by a candidate in this field.
6 - TRAVEL, ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
RETURN TRIP
The journey is the responsibility of the candidates.
ACCOMMODATION, MEAL
Accommodation and meals are the responsibility of the candidates. However, some partner institutions of the International Competition Trombone of Alsace will offer discounted rates for participants.
The restaurant "The Sheds" Contest partner will offer meals at special rates for candidates.
